Volunteers at Morrill Hall provide the Museum with valuable support for its programs, but volunteers also reap the rewards that come with giving back. Learning new things, teaching others, and being more involved with museum staff and experts are just a few of the rewards that come with giving your time to the museum.
Although not required, volunteers are strongly encouraged to become members of the museum's support organization the Friends of the University of Nebraska State Museum.
Benefits of museum membership include:
· Unlimited free admission to Morrill Hall and our branch museums
· Discounts to planetarium shows, gift shop, and birthday parties
· Free or reduced admission to many other U.S. museums
· Special invitations to upcoming events and exhibits
Volunteers who give an annual volunteer commitment of 20 hours a year or more are eligible to receive free admission to select museum events and a 10% discount in the museum store. All museum volunteers will receive an invitation to the annual volunteer recognition event held each spring.
