Investigate Saturday Science Lab is a monthly program coordinated by the Claire M. Hubbard Science Communication Interns at Morrill Hall. Each month the interns will provide a hands-on exploration of a new science topic. Activities for Investigate are always included with admission. 

April - Arts & Sciences

Explore how art and science affect each other.

Some activities include:
Paleo Art: Explore how artists work with paleontologists to depict ancient creatures
Nature's Paintbrush: Use ingredients in plants to make natural paints
Tessellations and Mosaics: Learn how hexagons reappear in nature, and how they're used in artwork and mosaics
Art and Science of Music: Explore different instruments and how soundwaves are created and vary by instrument
Astronomical Art: How art and visualizing numbers and data help scientists understand astronomy (FREE Mueller Planetarium program)

June 2026 - No Investigate - Join for Archie's Party

There will be no June 2026 Investigate programming, as student interns will be participating in Archie's Party at the museum. You're invited to join museum educators, researchers, and staff for a day full of hands-on activities and fun. Archie's Party will be held Saturday, June 6 from 9am-3pm. Activities are included with museum admission. 

July 2026 - No Investigate

To allow our student interns to enjoy their summer break, there will be no Investigate programming in July.
