Some of the activities available at this event include:

  • Grow Together: A Grassland Experience: Discover the prairie in a whole new way! Pull strings to reveal deep roots, help build a thriving ecosystem, explore Nebraska’s landscapes on our interactive map, and cast your vote for the future direction of our grasslands.
  • Veterinary Operation: Do you LOVE animals and want to be a veterinarian? Try your hand at the veterinary version of operation... called Ectomy! Discover what it takes to become a veterinarian and learn more about what next steps to take!
  • Where do my favorite meat cuts come from?: Pin your favorite meat cuts on a giant carcass poster and learn where your beef really comes from. Name that cut and explore a hands-on carcass model to understand carcass/meat composition.
  • Where does my breakfast come from?: Discover the journey your breakfast foods make on the way to your table!
  • Exploring the Movement of Water in Soil: Curious about the journey that our water takes? Want to observe how water interacts and moves through soil? Come learn and observe with us by modeling the movement of our water.
  • Hydro Heroes: Join the Hydro Heroes and explore the science of soil-free growing! This hands-on activity empowers students to become sustainability and urban agriculture champions through fun, STEM-packed hydroponics adventures.
  • Agriculture in your day!: Join the ALEC Department to learn where agriculture can be found in your daily life!
